I grew up in the 90’s and that makes me generation X and pop culture was something that I immersed myself into. I am a flamenco player and love music I used to worship some of these icons and later realized how our society elevates these performers as almost gods. It's like two worlds fighting for each human soul via selling out concerts, merch and music. In my painting I have always looked up to Salvador Dali, Frida Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh, Monet and many others but over time it seems that the more commercialized the art the less impactful it becomes there is a fine line between whitewashing what was meant to disrupt society and the worship of chaos which leads many talented artists to death.
